How to update Grameenphone Modem

Grameenphone Huawei E-1550 is a 3G HSDPA USB Modem which is a very powerful modem ever. It supports 3G and 2G network. Recently GrameenPhone released an update of the firmware and dashboard for their Huawei E-1550 USB Modem. In this update, Grameenphone has changed the dashboard design and color. Also they have introduced some exciting new features in the dashboard.

USSD Service

To make Video Call you have to insert Teletalk 3G Sim card inside the modem. The go to Call from the top menu of the dashboard.

How to Update GrameenPhone dashboard:

First connect the modem to your PC and install the modem. Make sure it is properly installed and ready to connect.

Then download the file from the below link.

Now extract the ZIP File you downloaded. You will find 2 files inside the ZIP Archive.

Grameenphone Internet modem Update Tool with video call

Now close all application window and stop all running application that you opened.

Right click on 'Grameenphone Internet modem Update Tool with video call' inside the folder click RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.

Now select Accept the agreement and press next

In next window you will see searching

After it finds the modem the following screen will come. Press Next.

On next screen the dashboard update process will start. Please do not unplug or stop the process otherwise your modem might be dead.
After it finishes unplug the modem and uninstall the previous version og modem dashboard and install the new dashboard and enjoy the new features of grameenphone modem.

If you want to update the modem firmware of the modem follow the below steps.

Open the folder you have downloaded. In the folder you will see E155XFirmwareUpdate_11.609.20.00.00.B418.exe

Open the file Right click on it and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR and press NEXT

After searching the port the below screen will come. Press next.

On next screen the firmware update process will start. Please do not unplug or stop the process otherwise your modem might be dead.

After all enjoy new features and increased performance of your old modem.
